We have carried full coverage car insurance through progressive insurance for years. Recently our jeep was damaged by an 85 year old man who was speeding and did quite a bit of damage to our vehicle. Progressive is refusing to honor our policy because they say there were no witnesses to the accident, the man who hit us did not admit fault so his insurance isnt wanting to pay. We had full coverage for nothing.

Potential illegal activity by a Progressive Employee

On Jan. 23, 2023, a Progressive employee used my son's debit card and manually keyed a withdrawal from his debit card in the amount of $2,623.70.

After multiple conversations and multiple disputes/appeals with my debit card carrier - Money Network and Progressive to recoup the money that was NOT authorized, Money Network basically told us that Progressive has the money - YOU need to get it from Progressive. On February 27, I talked with Grace Dianzinga (440-620-****) who found the money in your system (it was not applied to my son's account). We followed her direction to try to work with Money Network, but Money Network refused to follow her request. The bottom line is - I don't care what constraints you have in your system or processes - you need to immediately need to issue a check to Jason Donovan in the amount of $2,623.70.

You need to figure out how to fix the issue - not me, not my son and not Money Network. I will today file a complaint with the Ohio Insurance Commissioner and determine next steps from there.

User's recommendation: NEVER use a DEBIT card to pay your insurance - you will have the hassle of a lifetime if a mistake/fraud occurs.

Need to talk to somebody

My complaint is they took money on the 10th of May of 122.00 and we were not suppose to make a payment of 52.00 on June 10th now my rent payment won't get paid and will be in trouble with the landlord they said it's takes a week or more to have it returned so quick to take the money but so long to return it

My wife has had two wrecks within two years, something that's not happened to us in over 30+years... neither accident was ruled her fault, even their insurance companys agreed, now with an unblimished progressive say's they can't insure us, they also said and I quote "if one of those accidents had been my wife's fault they could issue us coverage"...how lame is that..well Flo and her crew are going to have alot of bad days by the time I get it in all the tabloids and local news...wbbj and good morning Memphis goooood place to start.

4 months no car, rate raised $600 a month, lied to repeatedly

My carwas hit in the rear end on the rim, rear quarter, rear door, wheel well and rocker panel. I opted to let at fault party repair my car and let her insurance cover my rental and my deductible.

After 2 weeks her insurance company(direct general) had not even picked up my car from where it was nonmovable without tow truck and could not give me a clear date regardless that Walgreens was threatening to tow my car as abandoned. I received a call from progressive checking my status so I decided to use my insurance, progressive. Direct thought I was too excited to talk to since I needed a rental and to get my car picked up 2 weeks later. Progressive towed my car to body shop of their choice, where it sat for a month of me being lied to about the status.

I was given expected completion dates when I could pick it up, only to find out it had not been started work on yet. (7 weeks). Speaking to my local agent Tracy force I was told she will call immediately and authorize all the work to be done. 3 days later I call the dealership to find she had not even called.

When she finally responded 3 days later she told me she doesn't have authority and she never said that. I requested her superior whom a left a voicemail for that I have still not received a response to. That is almost 9 weeks without my car or anywork being done.

I complain to the BBB and all of a sudden I'm getting calls from people all over the state in charge of all kind of responsibility. Telling me I'm going get get thousands of dollars in compensation.

That was a higher up named rob or Ron who is not calling me back again. One gentleman named Kahlil is the only person from progressive that I believe to have been honest and forthright. Kahlil called back when said, answered all questions even when I didn't like the answer and assured me Rob or Ron was trustworthy. Khalils only known lies were vouching for his boss and telling me his boss Rob/Ron would call me back by Tuesday.

Last Tuesday that is and no phone call.

My accident was September 22. 30 days ago I was notified my car was stolen.

I have still recieved no compensation. 6 months no car, no compensation and my payment went from $400 a month to $1000 a month for a car I have not driven or seen in 6 months.

How can a company use an incomplete estimate to pay out and close a claim?

Progressive is using an incomplete/ partial estimate that was done on my car to pay out/ close my claim. Then opens up a new claim with the at fault company who has progressive insurance as well but they are trying to use the same invalid/ fraudulent estimate to completely deny my claim and payin out anything. My car has been gone over 2 months now and nobody has any answers. I think this whole claims process has been done poorly, professionally, and most importantly illegally! My claim was closed with no one giving me any notice of this happening no estimate or explanation of what they were paying what they were denying took a $250 deductible out on my insurance policy made me pay to have my car towed the last time to a different repair shop and they used an estimate that legally could not be used to close out my claim and now the commercial adjuster is trying to do the same thing why can no one go do it complete real estimate on my car? It’s been over two months ! And most importantly how does the app fault companies insurance deductible have anything to do with me? Show me somewhere in my policy that I signed in agree to that if a company did $999 worth of damage to my car they don’t have to pay me anything at all if their insurance deductible is $1000! They are the at fault party what they pay on their insurance premium and deductibles is none of my business I don’t care how is progressive getting away with doing this this whole claims process has been illegal since day two if I did something like this I would probably be in jail right now let me just forge and defraud somebody send them a check with no knowledge and hope that they’re stupid enough to put it in their bank so that can officially close out the claim and legally but sorry that check is in the trash it was sent to me with no warning or explanation as to why my claim was being closed no estimate attach no information whatsoever all that has been done to my car is a impartial estimate I had to have my car moved so that an adjuster could go do a completed estimate which no one has done everyone wants to keep using this incomplete estimate that should never have been used to make a payment and to close out my claim with no notification whatsoever but seriously how can somebody else’s insurance deductible affect me getting paid or not? I’m not even trying to make any money off of this I just simply want my car fixed for them to fix the damage that they did to do the right thing and they are trying to cheat me and lie to me every time I turn around I will definitely be switching insurance companies as soon as my policy expires in two months I don’t want to do business with a company that is being this unprofessional, coldhearted, and just straight up and down deceitful and I have all the receipts and all the proof to take them to court I’m just simply asking them go do a real estimate do this the right way fix my car but they want to cheat me because that is a insurance companies number one objective close out the claim as quick as possible and pay the customer the least amount possible don’t ever pay them everything they are owed and deserve and if you can do this you will get a raise and promoted. Poor response to customer re: accident

Been with progressive 10+ years. First accident November 9th, totaled my jeep. My cliam rep very unprofessional, not contacting me, not responding to calls and emails. No one knows how to contact anyone else. Dec 6,2023 and still can't finalize cliam. Billing notice came without difficulty. So what does one do to get someone with the ability to answer question or able to direct you to the right person when your going it alone?

We had insurance through Progressive because the Hartford-(thru AARP) would not insure one of our temporary vehicles because it was a reconstructed title. Progressive was the next inexpensive insurance that did cover it. I discontinued insurance because the vehicle was sold, and we no longer needed Progressive. We will return in the future if needed again. Thank you for your understanding.
