Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Gave up

Original review Jun 27, 2024

I have been driving for 50 years. I have no citations and no accidents.

I had no insurance for 38 days and progressive charged me as a new driver.

This resulted in my rates being higher. I am an individual and shouldve been looked at as an individual, not as a group of people.

Pros:
  • Will ensure you
  • But it will cost you more
Cons:
  • But treating you as a group of people
  • Not rating you as an individual

Preferred solution: Price reduction

User's recommendation: Do not let your insurance run out for any reason if you plan on retitling a car and getting tags.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Of a three car accident that a progressive no fault driver was also involved with. Unfortunately the claim went on for one week shy of a year due to damage to my vehicle, I was the middle car.

After trying to get my claim closed for at least a month with no resolution I made a claim here on pissed off consumer and it was closed within days. Thank you

Kicked to the Curb

I have been a customer of Progressive for a few years for auto and homeowners here in Georgia. I am retired and moving to Myrtle Beach.

I called Progressive today for a quote on my new home.

I was told that Progressive is no longer writing new homeowner's insurance policies along the coast in 9 states. No, we are sorry for the inconvenience, it's just that you are SOL.

Billing Department Fraud

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

THIS COMPANY WILL PULL MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION!! NEVER ENROLL IN THIER AUTO BILLING!

And when you try to call to have the payment they pulled corrected, they will keep telling you that they cannot do anything because not enough time has passed for them to be able to correct it. Then they will load you up with fees and charges for the missed payments, when they are the ones trying to fraudulently pull the money to begin with! The representatives will mock you, call you a liar (Rep named Janette) and the condescending Supervisor (Named Constance) will do nothing but argue with you more that they did not screw up and try to convince you that some mysterious outside entity must have hacked my auto account and ordered a false payment that -conveniently- will go into their companies pockets.

I had a policy with them for 10+ YEARS and this is the first and last time there has been an issue. I have never received customer service this bad in my entire life- and it was all to cover up their own fraud!

Pros:
  • Cheap rate
Cons:
  • Will try to steal money from your account

Preferred solution: Save others from having to go through what I just went through with these unethical people.

I've been charged 300 dollars and a 470-dollar collection account has been placed on my credit report for an insurance policy I did not start. I have never owned the vehicle.

This has prevented me from getting an apartment, and I'm now homeless.

I have been trying to get this taken care of for 2 years now. If this does not get resolved soon, you will be hearing from my attorney, to whom I've already spoken.

Progressive insurance is notorious for denying existing claims and burning out your prepaid minutes and data

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was hit by a progressive insurance customer that ran a red light and was under the influence of marijuana, the acting officer on duty refused to give the at fault driver a sobriety test, the driver admitted all fault, the next day I called progressive and gave a full statement, they gave me an insurance adjuster from Southwest ATL which I didn't ask for, the adjuster (dumb broad) was demanding all this stuff from me, and it costed me all my prepaid minutes and data, after 60 minutes then she said they didn't have insurance, legally and by law, if they really didn't have insurance then they have to tell you first, every time I requested their supervisor's name and office number, they kept hanging up on me, I brought the denial letter to the officer at the PD, and they kept saying the at fault party had insurance and threatened to have me trespassed from a public lobby if I didn't leave(no such charge) so I hired an attorney that ended up being in favor for the at fault party and costed me thousands of dollars and ended up dropping my case, I've never been a customer of progressive and I never will

No paperwork to show we have insurance

Answer your phone calls and do what you say you are going to do. We were to receive paperwork to show we have insurance through your company, nothing has shown up.

We have already Paid you through one whole year. If we had not already paid for the Insurance we would cancel and find a better insurance company.

Progressive SCAM avoiding liability

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

SCAM SCAM SCAM FROM PROGRESSIVE

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the way my claim was handled by Progressive Insurance.

The claim was closed due to Progressive's inability to contact their insured. I believe this is a form of guilt, as they are refusing to respond and own up to the accident.

This was a hit-and-run case, and the driver fled the accident scene, leaving me with the damages to my vehicle.

The fact that Progressive was unable to reach their driver and closed my claim is unacceptable.

Moreover, I am concerned that this sets a precedent that people can avoid liability for accidents they cause if they leave the scene and refuse to communicate. As a responsible citizen, I believe that everyone should be held accountable for their actions, and it is unfair that I should bear the financial burden of someone else's mistake.

I would like to request that my claim be reopened and investigated thoroughly.

Per standard policy language, insureds must cooperate with their carriers or the coverage can be cancelled As they cannot confirm anything with their carrier, they are not covering the loss. This is normal. This is why you carry your own insurance.

You have a right to sue the driver. Not the insurer.

Terrible experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

switched to Progressive from Allstate because I thought the rates would be cheaper but the difference only ended up being a few dollars. I would gladly pay more for better customer service.

Recently, I had my hood blow up while I was on the highway & it suffered damage. I filed my claim under comprehensive & the adjuster I spoke with was the most rude, uninformed adjuster I have ever dealt with. I have been a paralegal for over 15 years & deal with insurance daily & have never experienced the horrible customer service the adjuster gave me. I spoke with her once when she told me where to take my car.

When I took it to the collision center, I assumed they would do the estimate & get back to the adjuster who would then contact me. WRONG. The adjuster accepted the estimate & the collision center proceeded to repair my car without my knowledge. When I received an automated text that they were repairing my car, I called, emailed & texted my adjuster with no response.

I contacted her supervisor with no response. I instructed the shop to halt all repairs on my vehicle because the $2k damage to the hood should have totaled out my car with 190k miles & engine damage. I then spoke with a Progressive rep who manages the body shop who informed me that it is normal not to have contact with the adjuster after the car is taken to the shop. He also informed me that the estimate didnt total my car because the engine damage hadnt been formally diagnosed prior to the hood damage.

I instructed him to send me the check & not fix my vehicle. When I towed my vehicle home, my engine would not even crank when before I took it in, it would at least crank & run. I am still waiting for my check & it has been a week since it was supposedly mailed & over 2 weeks since the damage to my hood. I am stuck with a car that wont even crank & no way to get another vehicle until I get the check in the mail.

Save yourself the headache & go elsewhere. It isnt worth the few dollars you save to have this awful customer service.

They are not making my car drivable

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Progressive Insurance - They are not making my car drivable
Progressive Insurance - They are not making my car drivable - Image 2

In October, my 2012 Mercedes GL 350 encountered an unfortunate collision when it was struck from behind while stationary at a stoplight. What ensued was a disheartening experience with Progressive Insurance, characterized by a stark lack of diligence and a disregard for customer well-being.

At the time of the incident, my vehicle, meticulously maintained and mechanically sound, suffered a substantial antifreeze leak, rendering it inoperable.

Despite Progressive's commitment to addressing the necessary bodywork repairs, they regrettably declined to acknowledge or rectify the consequential mechanical issues, attributing their decision to the age of the vehicle (2012) and its mileage (105,000).

It is imperative to underscore that my car was fully functional and drivable prior to the accident, making the current mechanical complications a direct result of the collision. This glaring disparity between the pre- and post-collision condition contradicts the fundamental principle of insurance coverage the restoration of the insured property to its pre-loss state.

I must clarify that Progressive Insurance represents the at-fault party's insurer, not my own. Despite my innocence in the incident, the aftermath has led to substantial personal investment, prolonged engagement with bureaucratic processes, and the unfortunate transformation of a once-pristine vehicle into an immobile state.

In light of these circumstances, I respectfully seek a reevaluation of Progressive's position. I request a thorough consideration of the mechanical issues resulting from the collision and a commitment to restoring my vehicle to its pre-accident operational state.

This pursuit aligns with the core principles of insurance coverage and the expectation that damages, both visible and mechanical, be appropriately addressed.

I trust that Progressive Insurance will take this matter seriously and demonstrate a commitment to upholding the integrity of their service. Your prompt attention to this request is greatly appreciated.Get an attorney
